Not until too long ago, it would have been difficult to imagine golf in Cyprus. The recurring association with Cyprus has always been the sea and the sand. These accompanied by the balmy climate, were the principal attractions to the Mediterranean delight. After all, there is nothing like escaping the North European winter and sipping on a cold one on the beach.

The introduction of golf in Cyprus has added an extra dimension to the destination. Not only does one get to enjoy the great outdoors in great weather, a golf game is also in order. Four of the golf courses in Cyprus are easily accessed from Paphos, known for its harbour, history and archeological riches. For those looking for nightlife, they can also stay in Limassol. It does make the drive to the golf courses a little bit longer, but you can party harder.

Cyprus is truly an year-round destination, although some months are better than others. The temperature in the winter months rarely drops to single digits if at all, although there are some rainy days. However from March onwards until October, the weather stays beautiful. The tourist season though, really kicks in from after May, peaking in July and August.

There’s much more to explore than just sea or golf in Cyprus. If you head inland many treats lie in store. There is a plethora of ruins to be found everywhere, dating back to the glorious past of the great empires. The landscape lends itself to several hiking trails, the weather to wine making and their combination to even “skiing”. And neither the last nor the least, it is the food. You just can’t imagine going wrong with the influences of Greek & Turkish cuisines and Cyprus’s own original flavours. Cyprus is a holiday destination in the truest sense.
