You will find only a handful of golf courses in Sri Lanka, in the cities of Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and more recently in Hambantota. But don’t be fooled by the small pool of choice, the character of Sri Lanka’s golf courses more than make up for it.
Typical golf itineraries in Sri Lanka have a round or two at each of the courses - Royal Colombo Golf Club, the Victoria Golf & Country Resort in Kandy, the Nuwara Eliya Golf Course and the very recent and exquisite Shangri-La’s Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa.

The town of Nuwara Eliya (pronounced Nureliya) is situated at an altitude of 2000 metres, about 3 hours drive from Kandy and five hours from Colombo.
The club house at the Royal Colombo Golf Club is laden with colonial character and by itself is worth the trip from a city hotel.
The Victoria course is truly spectacular. It meanders through scenic terrain making for some breathtaking views on several holes.
Hello Tanu
All went really well thank you.Special thanks to our driver couple who were always on time and drove safely. We adjust the pick up times a little bit earlier at their proposal which was good thing. Many times we were able to start right away before the huge groups from Korea or Japan.
Pattaya golf course was the easiest and the ageof the course was shown on there but caddies were excellent every time.Worst caddies were on the Laem Chabang (we heard the same story from other players as well) which was sad because the course was quite interesting and help was needed with the dog legs and greens. All courses were good and can be recommended to all players easily, but the Siam country club Old course was the finest.
Hopefully we'll return play to Asia next year so maybe we'll contact you again later this year.BR, Timo
