Golf in Phnom Penh

To complete a Cambodia golf holiday, a visit to Phnom Penh must figure in the itinerary. Though Siem Reap has been the golfing centre of Cambodia, Golf in Phnom Penh is not far behind. In fact, the first golf courses in Cambodia were opened in Phnom Penh in the years 1996 and 1999. Both the Cambodia Golf & Country Club and the Royal Cambodia Golf Course are good value courses and not too far from the city. Newer and bigger golf projects are in the pipeline and have created a lot of excitement. The newest entrants are the Garden City Golf Club & Grand Phnom Penh Golf Club both which are of excellent quality. 

Phnom Penh is proving to be a bigger draw for international travellers, of late, because of its location by the Mekong, its French colonial architecture, wide boulevards and a vibrancy that is intoxicating. Phnom Penh’s hot spots are the Royal Palace, the National Museum and the Tuol Sleng Museum, a stark reminder of the country’s tumultuous past and its many characterful markets. Phnom Penh is finding its way back into travel calendars and might not stay true to its “undiscovered destination” tag for much longer.

BEST TIME TO GOLF IN PHNOM PENH: Cambodia can be visited throughout the year as the temperatures throughout the year do not vary too much. However, the ideal months to visit Phnom Penh are November to February as you experience little rainfall, low humidity, and cooler temperatures.
